kikay kits

I’ve been blogging about beauty for over a year now, and it was more on blogging on my own, as I wasn’t able to mingle with co-bloggers in the Philippines. For a year, I’ve lived through sharing emails with co-beauty bloggers in the Beauty Blog Network, and really, I’ve learned alot, and appreciated their helpfulness. It was like a family watching each others’ back.

Just last month when I met up with bloggers from the Bayanihan Blog Network, I realized, hey, there is such a great community here, and it’s really fun mingling and talking about blogging with people offline! Now, I’ve decided to try to get a dose of network blogging. Maybe for a change. Thus, my new beauty blog, that is catered for the Filipino kikays and kikoys ( hahaha! such a cute term! ), Kikay Kits!

I also hope to be able to convert some of my readers to be kikay like me! It’s so much fun being kikay!

Now, I’m sure this is going to be fun! Yayness!

I just read this on my drafts. Gosh, did I really write this? I have so much kept emotions! Hahaha! But really, I am not brokenhearted. ( or am I ? I’m even too busy to have a heart! Haha! )

The Melody of a Broken Heart

Nothing beats the feeling of getting giddy when you accept to yourself that you are liking someone for the first time.

Butterflies in one’s stomach, the sugar high, and all those blushes whenever that special someone is within close proximity.

When the person is more perfect that you have imagined, it allthemore becomes more painful, and harder to let go of. You form an illusion, that perhaps, he is the dream that you have been waiting for. Read the rest of this entry »

Surprises are great, aren’t they?

Last Saturday was quite a blast, as I have had the surprise of my life. My best buds and I agreed to have an intimate dinner at Casa Armas for my birthday, then go to Alchemy for some drinks afterwards. I’ve dressed up with my usual night out - outfit, as I have urged my best friends to wear their dresses, so excited to do something different for the night. Read the rest of this entry »

At last, Summer Solstice 2007 is finally here. It marks the first day of summer in the Northern Hemishphere, it’s Midsummer in Europe, and here, it’s awfully damp and cold. Well, I can only imagine the multitude of festivities up there, maybe some day, I can go to Stonehenge as my personal journey to see it happen right in front of my eyes.

Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, when the power of the sun is strongest. Long long time ago, our ancestors used to worship the sun because it makes plants grow and it gives them warmth, so the moment of the sun’s greatest power marks a celebration for them. Then, several ( well not several, but alot of ) celebrations have sprouted, and Summer Solstice is an event widely celebrated by people around the world.

mirmo de pon Well, I can’t think of anything artistic to start off this blog entry when I am so , absolutely tensed, and feel my blood pressure rise, whenever I watch Pinoy Big Brother! God, someone, help me! ( Yes, Reema ( the cute picture on the left, is trying to help me relax! )

With the Wendy fiasco going on ( just a summary : Wendy’s been accusing the nice housemates Gee-Ann and Bea of being “unreal” because they’re not confrontational and they won’t fight back to Wendy ), everyone in the household is absolutely fuming at Wendy’s behavior. I can’t say much for I might burst into flames again, but all I can say is that, being real does not mean that you have to be mean, or resort in bashing, or being hurtful to other people. People who are level-headed and more understanding shouldn’t be mistaken as being “unreal”. Just read here for I share the same sentiments as them. Gosh, I don’t know what to say anymore but, she must go, she must go! She’s not being real at that point, she’s being absolutely childish, and she reminds me of mean girls! It’s Saturday night, and I chose to skip my weekly Saturday night outs for the reason that I’ve accumulated so much stress over the past few weeks. With a luxurious massage last night, I feel somehow revived, ready to work again, but only after I take a full rest this weekend. ( With the exception of a Sunday lunch *winkwink* )

After work, I gleefully went home, went to my room and watched HBO - and it turned out to be this old ( well, not really old ) movie, Chances Are starring Robert Downy Jr. (who, I must say, looked so much like John Lloyd Cruz in this film, since he was still young then ) and Sybill Shephered (who, I thought was incredibly gorgeous and young then ) . The movie was about love lost, reincarnation, and finding love again. Read the rest of this entry »

The wind plays with the leaves, the weather turns colder.
But as long as we believe, love doesn’t get older

-Kissing by Bliss

As summer is to approach the Northern Hemisphere as the Summer Solstice draws near , summer is bidding a quiet farewell, at least, in the country where I live in, which is situated near the equator.

I’ve always had this mentality that after June 12, summer is officially over. I remember last year, my college friends and I chose to frolic the last days of summer in Boracay, and the weather was still cooperating with us as it shone an exotic allure that captured my heart. The day we left, was the only time when the rain started pouring in Boracay - and that was the 13th of June.

Yesterday, I was able to attend the Graphic Expo ‘07 at the Philippine Trade Training Center, as I brought along my dad, a tech enthusiast ( who inspired me to be one as well ), and my sister Strawberry, who is majoring in Multimedia Arts, so that I could show her what the latest gadgets and technology there in Pre-press and Imaging.

I might be beauty blogging my nights away in pursuit of my holy grail cosmetics, but in broad daylight, I am totally a different person- I belong to the print industry, and I talk not in terms of beauty jargons, but instead, print jargons like color separation, kinds of papers, pre-press, spot colors, and all those stuff. I really enjoy my day job because it is very exciting, and I get to see the print industry evolving rapidly, as the machines go all the way advanced, as prices fluctuate from getting extremely lower, and with new gadgets priced way up there. Printing is my daylight passion. Read the rest of this entry »

With a fresh new blog, what a great way to start things off by enumerating 7 Facts About Me? Sasha , my fashion blogger friend for Tops2Bottoms has tagged me to share 7 random facts about me. I kept on analysing Sasha’s post if I was permitted to confine it to a “stylish level”, which is within the bounds of my scope of blogging, which is beauty blogging, or just naming 7 random facts about me, in general. In this case, I’m mixing them both since my personal life is pretty much intertwined with my beauty blogging life. I’ve been vain all my life.

Anyway, here’s my piece. =)

1. I love wearing black. I’ve alot of black blouses and sleeveless tops. I believe that black is such a beautiful , classy color that fits me, and complements my skintone and figure. Even if I’m Chinese, and black clothing is highly discouraged to be worn, I’m off my rebellious streak because I feel beautiful when I’m wearing black. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m reposting this from my old abode, that I choose to leave behind permanently. If I don’t, I think that I will be forever entrapped in a world of …

Destiny and Agony

Do you know the feeling wherein you see someone for the first time, and your eyes just lay fixed on their presence, mesmerized, unable to think right? That perfect moment, that perfect place, that adds up to the beats of your heart, until it beats so fast that the it deafens you to the music of the place, and its sounds lay fixed on your soul. The noisy crowds and dance music just fade away, and all that’s left is the breeze of the sea, and you two.
