I know everyone who has their hands on the book already are struggling to keep awake last night just to finish all the 700 something pages of the book, as me and my bestbud M were trying to do so, but alas, we are growing old , and we do get tired! Read the rest of this entry »

![]() Last Sunday was such a fun day as I watched Harry Potter 5 : Order of the Phoenix with all my sisters ( yes, all 5 of us! ). We enjoyed the day, as our parents dropped us off at the mall to watch the movie that we have been waiting for all week! My sister Strawberry mused about his professor comparing which was better - to read the book before watching Harry Potter in the moviehouse, or watching the movie before reading the book. On my end, I have just started reading Harry Potter last February, out of boredom from my post-graduate phase. I just picked it up from my sister Sarabeth’s book shelf, and started reading. With that, the addiction began and it took me just , I think, two weeks to finish everything. With that, it is clear that I have watched all four movies of Harry Potter before I read the book. In my opinion, for the past four movies, I have appreciated, and fully understood it onscreen, and it was a good thing that I have watched the movie, for when I started reading the books, the images that were retained in my mind ( the movie sequences perhaps ) helped me better grasp and imagine Harry Potter and his adventures. As for the discrepancies, at least, the inconsistencies or whatever was missing in the movie, were well-filled with my book reading.

My parents are currently rejoicing that I’m actually home on a Saturday night. This is just one of those fortunate moments that no one is going out on a Saturday night, and to celebrate that, we ordered some takeout for dinner. I’ve heard so much about Suzhou Dimsum, and to add, Patty has been raving about their Xiao Long Pao and Spicy Tito, so I dialled the number and started ordering stuff for the family. When my folks came home , my sister and I started preparing for dinner, and to our surprise, the servings of the food we ordered were actually huge! We excitedly prepared the dinner table to eat dinner as soon as possible. Heck, I didn’t have time to take pictures of the food that we ate because of our excitement! To review each of the food we ordered, well, Read the rest of this entry »

This time , I can say that summer was a dream away. It’s over. Definitely over. The chilly breeze that tickles my skin somehow drugs me to sleep. Yes, the rainy season has just said hello. While talking to Dee on YM, as she is in Singapore already, I was asking how the weather was, as I was telling her that it was so chilly in here, and the rain just keeps on pouring. Then she tells me that it’s hot there. Okay, should I be envious? Well, jussst a little bit! But hey, the cold season has its perks , too! This time of the year is the sleepiest time of the year. As your skin touches the cold cement wall ( or floor, for that matter ), the chill just runs up your body, until it reaches home base - your brain, as the cold sings a soothing lullaby as your head gets dizzy, until you give in to temptation and get some shut-eye. I know, because lately, I’ve been more attached to my pillow, I’ve been having problems waking up, and well, the I’ve been using the heater in my shower as opposed during the summer, that I never used my heater. Yes , it’s the weather that you feel like snuggling with your special someone, or just sleep the entire day and drift to wonderful dreams, and stay at home. This time is also the time where the mind wanders the most, and reflections are just flying in the air, waiting to be captured, and be lingered on. The best companion perhaps in this cold, cold weather is a cup of hot coffee or chocolate. A great friend to warm the senses, keep the eyes open, and keep the feet planted firmly on the ground. God. I do not want to think too much.

Sometimes I think that I want to be an expert in everything, and do things on my own. Learn CSS and PHP ( which I eventually gave up with ), photography ( which I eventually made my younger sister Straw learn instead, ) and graphics ( which I eventually let Sarabeth do. ). As much as I want to do everything, I have learned that I should specialize in some thing, instead of attempting to want to do everything. Much, much practical. Anyway, stumbling upon a Multiply site of Niko, I got to admire his talent for vector drawing. I would never have thought that Niko would have the passion, and patience to work in Adobe Illustrator, or Corel Draw for that matter, and be that creative, since he graduated with a degree of Industrial Engineering, and all I could relate to that course are the jargons, “ergonomics”, “operations research”, and “thermodynamics”, and of course, “mathmathmath.” Here are some of his work : ![]() Read the rest of this entry »

I’m a little bit depressed right now. For a few days, I’ve been deciding whether or not to buy this unique, aqua-blue shade of nail polish that is China Glaze’s Limited Edition, called “For Audrey.”. The shade is inspired by the ever classy and quintessential fashionista Audrey Hepburn. ![]() ![]() Just a few days after, two e-tailers of this nail polish shade already declared, “Sold Out.” Just when I was about to look for someone in the U.S. to receive my package. I’m gonna be okay. In a few days. The question remains - will I be ever, ever get hold of this shade? Please, Santa, I’d be a good girl! Sophie’s Note : I’ve posted this in my personal blog, since well, I was caught into one of my moodswings, with this included. One of my shopping moodswings. Call it shallow, but hey, a little bit of Audrey Hepburn in my outfit won’t hurt!

I admit that I’m not a dress person. I love jeans, I love mini-skirts, even gauchos, but I’ve never ever considered wearing a dress to a night out. In fairness, I’ve worn dresses for special occasions like weddings or such formal occasions, but on normal Saturday nights, I’ve always preferred the laid-back comforts of the God-sent creation called denim. Lately, the trend has been all about dresses. I’ve seen Sasha sport really gorgeous dresses which gave her an ultra-feminine and sophisticated vibe, saw my best friend wear a dress, for the first time , which made me laugh and say wow, and just a month ago, my best buds have been talking about somethiing like, “Hey, let’s go out one time and all wear dresses! “. Of course, the dreamy me giddily shopped for a few pieces, and kept them for some future use. I could already imagine myself wearing those pretty dresses, and of course, complimenting them with pretty makeup too ! ( Did I need to say that? ) Read the rest of this entry »
