Apologies to my readers ( my good ‘ol friends ), and to my blog for being neglected over the past week for I have been busy with alot of things. I’ve been introduced to alot of things lately that I’ve been enjoying myself despite the bad weather that brings sickness to alot ( Grrr I hate the weather )
Well, here’s what kept me busy!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
My face was definitely buried in this book from Saturday evening to Monday evening. When Sarabeth arrived home with the much coveted book, I was able to start reading it after the TV series marathon that my sisters want to watch together, in full attendance (we are,a close knit family! Haha! ). Come Sunday, I was still reading it inside a Chinese accupuncture center while I watched over my mom’s procedure. Monday after work, and I’m still finishing it until I did. Gosh. I love this book! This has got to be the best book, and it was definitely action packed that just took me away ! Every penny was well spent for this book. I wonder how they’d turn this into a movie, it would really be quite challenging. A separate review will be made for this, I promise! I really do think that Harry Potter defines this generation. I can imagine myself being a grandma one day and telling my grandchildren about Harry Potter, with them getting bewildered, and excited to watch a “classic.” Haha!
Heroes, the TV Series
I am so so hooked with Heroes, the TV Series. I know I’m a bit late, but I managed to make my sister buy me the DVD for Season 1, and we’ve watched two episodes per night, until we finished it! The concept is absolutely amazing - as there are challenges in nature in this generation - pollution, advanced diseases and such, men adapt to their environment and their genes start to develop superpower abilities that help them survive. Incredible! I so love Masi Oka, the Japanese guy who plays Hiro Nakamura in Heroes! He’s so cute and adorable! I’ve also come to admire Hayden Panetierre, who plays Claire-bear Bennett, the girl who regenerates. I think she is the Lindsay Lohan ( hopefully no drugs please ) of her generation as she is 17, and taking a really great role ( her acting was superb. at least for me. )
I can’t wait for Season 2!!!
Grey’s Anatomy
I’m in my early episodes with Grey’s Anatomy, just after watching Heroes, and as my good buddy B says, once I watch Grey’s, I would hate to sleep, and would prefer watching it. Well, it’s true! This is the TV series that somehow made me regret declining my mom’s plea of me taking medicine ( and my dad wanted me to be a lawyer sheesh ), for it sure makes practicing medicine look so cool! Even a survey conducted in the US revealed that more American girls want to be doctors. Maybe it’s the influence of this show. I find the chemistry of Meredith and Derek ( McDreamy ) sizzling, but friends are telling me I’d be hating Meredith more and more in the coming episodes. Well, let’s see, shall we?
