As a few numbers add to my age, the more I come into closer contact with reality - and maybe, in retrospect, I would have wanted to retain my childlike wonder with the world, because what reality is asking me to peek at right now isn’t a beautiful picture. D’s one of the kindest people in the world, and I also respect him for great , and ethical business practices that I couldn’t be more proud of him. Sometimes, I think, if I could just be half as good as him, I’d be alive even in the jungle. Why did I mention that? Well, because he’s the greatest friend ever, too. He gives his all to friends, and I see that trait in me as well, as I am such a friend person. He’s so kind - to the point that he’d tell some of his strategies to his friends - or so he thought, but in the end, the friend moves on and as the friend progresses, the “friend” acts as if he doesn’t know D. Whenever I’d see the picture, I’d always feel bad for D , and hate the user “friend”. There is a line between being kind, and allowing yourself being abused and used by people. There is also a line between being greedy or practical , to choose to protect your own interests. Perfect competition is the name of the game in Economics, but then, it is ceteris paribus, and assumptions made in an ideal world. In this world, the letters in the equations are called people, they have feelings, friendships, and camaraderie. Being used feels horrible - and is a shocking turn to reality. Makes you all jaded, cynical with the world. Gives this world a bad image, to boot. And it’s just so hard to trust people anymore.

Ceteris paribus, you’re original. Copy cats’re always BOO! material. I totally feel for you. Not that I have originated ten thousand things but I have also worked on my ish or craft or whatever you call it, only to find out “friends” progressing without even looking back or crediting at least. They just don’t realize how much work there is behind the things you and me’re passionate about. *sigh*

Ayos lang yan. That’s why one always has to be one step ahead… continually improving one’s self. If we want to be ahead of our competition in the business, it’s okay for us to give away information only if we know that tomorrow we will know a little bit more — enough to be ahead of the person we gave information too. It sounds selfish but, that’s how life works.
