The author, Summer Girl, or Sophie, as fondly called by friends, was born on the 21st of June, which coincides with Summer Solstice- the longest day of the year.

By day, Sophie works for a printing company, and by night, she manages and writes for her beauty blogs, namely Beautynomics and The Mineral Makeup Blog. Her immense and deep passion for beauty further inspires her to write for these blogs that are her outlet for destressing the day away. She is also an aspiring entrepreneur and manages her online store, Beauty & Minerals. Given this paragraph , it can be concluded that she is a very very vain person. Lol.

Aside from that, she is currently developing her skills in reading the tarot. She strongly believes in the mystical side of life , and believes in intuition and destiny. Of course, life is a 50-50 mix of destiny and free will. The perfect mix would lead to the best life attainable.

Why Summer Solstice? Summer Solstice is widely celebrated as one important event of the year by numerous cultures, and is considered a magical day, with many pagan rituals dedicated to it. Various literature, including Summer Solstice by Nick Joaquin and Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare, have their setting during the Summer Solstice. Magical things happen, and love is widespread during Summer Solstice.

The magic that the day brings always inspires Sophie to find magic in everything she does, and always believe that magic can happen in one’s life. In this blog, she chronicles and reflects her everyday happenings - and maybe, pinpoint where the magic is.
