Endless warmth. Turquoise seas. White, powdery, soothing sand. Seductive sunsets. Perfect escape. I close my eyes, and I’m in paradise. My body lets go, and surrenders to my haven. My soul rejoices as it reaches home. All year round this is all I live for. For every sleepless night, for every tired muscle, I only think of getting there as I willfully let time pass and let it bruise my body. Once I reach my destination, I will lie down on the sand, close my eyes, and feel my body resurrect from its death. I would spread my wings, fly like an angel, and feel freedom at its peak.

Dear Marimar, My day was at its worst today as I woke up at the wrong side of the bed. To top it off, a friend of mine just won’t listen to me as I try to talk some sense into her. Muy frustrating. I was swamped with work, and I was in low spirits today as well, I might be PMS-ing. Could anything go worse today? NOT! Because I’m pretty, pretty sure, that you made my day ( night, that is, ) because of this! ![]() When I received an invite for the Sunsilk Press Launch, I immediately said yes for I was impressed with the Life Can’t Wait Campaign. It inspired me to be a go getter, not wait any moment further, and well, spoil my hair even more! When C told me that you were gonna be there, being a HUGE Marian Rivera slash Marimar fan , who stays home every night just to watch every single episode, I knew I needed to be there to see you in the flesh!

![]() As a self-conscious big time photo criticizer (only to myself okay), for once in my life, I do not care if this is one of my unflattering shots, because it doesn’t happen everyday that I would have this chance of having a picture taken with my absolut house music idol, Moony! I started liking Moony’s music way back in college , and I first heard her song from the music player of my boss ( from my OJT days). My favorite song that she sang would probably be Dove, but just lately, she released a new track called “For Your Love,” which I absolutely love, and is LSS ( last song syndrome ) material. Last night ( Saturday ), during the CLEAR Black Parade Black Valentine’s Concert, she was able to sing For Your Love, Point of View, Dove ( twice ), Acrobats ( twice, ) and other songs, and even sang acapella (someone correct my spelling )! I was absolutely thrilled to listen to her song For Your Love ( considering I’ve been playing it nonstop for two weeks ). I have observed that half of the crowd were just standing and appreciating Moony’s strong, amazing voice, but half of the crowd were dancing, and fully enjoying themselves, including me ( well, I swayed, okay ! ) Read the rest of this entry »

Way back in college, I’ve always loved all my literature subjects. That explains while up to now, I still could not forget the stories we’ve discussed, the poems we’ve recited aloud, and one of the unforgettable stories that I’ve studied is called Araby, written by Irishman James Joyce. Such a timely story, which perfectly describes my life right now. To sum it up, it’s about a boy who lived in Dublin, who had all this grandeur visions of Araby, a carnival of some sorts with an exotic setting of the Middle East, and aside from that, he is also smitten with a girl, which, when he just becomes unexplainably shy when she talks to him. Upon various begging his parents to let him go to Araby, he was allowed, but was not prepared for the real Araby that greeted him as he arrived there from a tiring journey. It wasn’t as beautiful as he’d envisioned it to be , with most stalls closed, dark corners, and even flesh trade in action. He leaves Araby disappointed, and in rage.

![]() Bestbud J has always been raving about Kimpura as one of her favorite Japanese resto’s, and tonight, just before watching dinner, we decided to try it out. Blame it on the impossible parking slots in Greenhills during weekends, that my heels and feet were harassed in great deal as my bestbuds and I had a long, long walk to the promised gastronomic destination. When we arrived , now I understood that my energy exerted to walk there was so worth it - we were eating real, real good food. As we entered the restaurant, the ambience was really posh, and I loved the place. Well, enough of the red chairs and impressive teppanyaki tables, let’s get on with the dishes.

![]() Well, it is February, so in celebration of the month of love (oh my here I go again), my best friends went to watch 27 Dresses starring Katherine Heigl. I might not really relate to Jane ( Heigl )in the sense that she is purely, purely selfless in giving herself to others for their respective happy endings, and setting her needs aside, but then I could relate to her in the sense that I truly believe in fairy tales, and happy endings. I am a sucker for romance, and I always will be. God you must see my seatmate’s face when I was swooning when Kevin ( Mardsden ) said, “Come over here.” as well, I don’t want to give spoilers. * Shuts her mouth* What made this movie appealing is the idea that every girl deserves a happy ending, allthemore, with a girl that has been nothing but selfless, in giving other people happiness. It’s a “good people deserve happiness” themed movie, a little bit predictable, but nonetheless perfect for Valentine’s Day. I cried in the last part, during the wedding, because it’s always been a girl’s dream come true to walk in the aisle, as the magical moment happens, the groom’s face just lights up of pure love, respect, and devotion. *Gushes, well, someday, somehow, everyone will have his/her own dose of magic, just like this.* Well, to wrap this up, some interesting parts or tidbits about the movie that I loved (now, the spoilers! ) : Read the rest of this entry »

Amidst all the goodness in our lives, great things happenings to us - our careers, friends, family, businesses, we just can’t help but find something missing - love. Although we tell ourselves that it should be the last thing on our minds to ponder about, sometimes, some idle time makes us reflect that somehow, our perspective with regards to the world would be a whole lot different if there were someone in our lives to enrich us with their love. erm I remember singing this during one of our videoke sessions of our block way back in college. Someone said, “Sophie, I didn’t know you could sing!” , well that was because I was singing the tolerable notes, and as I aimed for higher, someone said, “ay hindi na niya kaya.” Hahahahaha! I know, I’m so so far behind! So much to do right now, but first, it’s Kong Xi Fa Tsai to all of you! Happy Happy Chinese New Year! I just find it funny that Charms and Crystals refused to give me a love charm and asked me to focus on my health instead. Hahahahaha! Anyway, let’s all be healthy, fellow pigs! Before I start, let me just relate that I’ve been dwelling on old love songs in the past, and I find them soothing. But as I see myself aging, I just, well, wanted to feel young, thus, finding my solace in house and chillout music feels great. Definitely no pop for me. For my next love song, well it’s called For Your Love by Moony. ( MOONY!!!!! I’m seeing ya next weeek!!!! ) If you read upon the lyrics without listening to the music itself, you’d feel that it’s sappy, when it’s actually not. This house track is fantastic that I just can’t unplug my earphones, as I play it over and over again. I imagine myself at the beach , lounging in my coverup, wearing my shades, with this song as my background music. Muy glamourous. It feels like a song about mad, crazy love, though it doesn’t give a very serious tone to it, that makes it a little bit less depressing. Well, even dance tracks have emotions bursting from them, too! For your love, I’d do anything, just about anything. ( what the…? ) For Your Love

Well, before I proceed, a good friend told me that too much poetry is unhealthy and consulting love songs can sometimes be too unhealthy. Perhaps it would send me to the world of illusion, perhaps it would keep me off the ground and dream on. But then, just for this month, I’d like to feel that way. After that, I can go hardcore bitter again. Kidding! This song, is cheesy, I admit. But then, if someone would sing this to me, I won’t mind. It explains the unbelievable feeling of falling in love. “Am I exactly with you?” Sometimes too much good things happen to us that we can’t believe it’s happening. Too surreal perhaps? Never Thought Can I touch you? |
