I woke up late yesterday ( Saturday ) because I had no office that day. I was supposed to postpone my trip to Tagaytay with friends already when I woke up to a text message plea from J to come along because we don’t go out of town much. Since the circumstances seemed cheerful and more optimistic in the household, I was able to take a quick shower, dress up in time, and head for our meeting place. Sometime along 1 oclock in the afternoon, us girls + 1 boy were complete to have our awaited late lunch at Tagaytay. Guess where? Of course, our less adventurous streak for the weekend led us to Buon Giorno, our favorite Italian resto in Tagaytay, and as C has never tried it before there, we sought to bring him there to make him understand why we love the place so much! ![]() The reason why this blog might be called The Buon Giorno Blog ( TBGB ) in the near future. haha!
It was a little bit disappointing that there was an outpour because I was quite excited to take pictures outdoors, so my baby Cruzita was wrapped in supermarket plastic even if it was in my bag just to make sure it didn’t get wet. The Opium Bed wasn’t available because it was outdoors, so it was my first time to eat inside the resto. It was okay, anyway. So there, I, again, took pictures of what we ate. But it’s still almost the same thing - so maybe if I come back here like for the 5th time, I just might get the foodshots right! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The same Buon Giorno Special Salad v.2 - with the dressing on the spoon. More angles, more angles! ![]() ![]() ![]() New York Pizza ( the sausage’s the really tasteful part there. I like it! but I like my seafood pesto pasta that I always order better! ) ![]() We grabbed some rib-eye steak and prime rib, and I learned from some chewing that rib-eye had more “packed meat” than prime rib, which was more in fat content ( but so yummy. ). ![]() Buon Giorno already has a new Manila branch in Shaw Boulevard, but hey, I would go back anytime to Tagaytay because the ambience is really one of a kind! Maybe during really bad craving moments I can grab a few bites there. Going back,we enjoyed our food so much ( for the nth time ) despite the really bad weather, and I was really floored on how attentive they were of us. ( Did they discover my blog? haha kidding). When bestbud J called to reschedule since we’d be late due to the traffic, in the midst of her calling the line was cut but their staff called her mobile to ask why she called. They also offered to move our stuff ( ex. magazines ) from the table to make room for more plates and asked if we wanted the pizza to be taken out since we had leftovers. My friend C was delighted with the great service given to us and well, another satisfied friend whom we brought to Buon Giorno! Afterwards, we went to Sonya’s Garden for a massage ( look out for my post in Beautynomics for that! ) despite the rainy and gloomy weather. The road was pitch dark as we went home - not too traffic, but still a long drive back to the Metropolis. Our dinner was a lovely 9:30pm takeout at KFC in South Super Highway with us eating in the car. It was frustrating because of the traffic, but I cannot say that it wasn’t fun! The company I was with was tres delightful that even if we got burned in an oven I still would’ve had fun with their pranks! What I loved about this trip is that I know, in a few months’ time, two of us would be turning 25, and even though we unconsciously talk about “old people” stuff already that we never thought of before, we’re still remaining very good friends, always there for each other, always game to reminisce on how silly we were as high school girls who not only tease each other alot, but also give our love and support for each other no matter what. With that, I’m not so scared of the future anymore because I know I have my girls with me.
