Filed Under (Food Fest, Adventures with my Girlfriends) by Summer Girl
![]() It was Saturday, and after a hyper me enjoying my tense-filled makeup class ( I pressure myself too much, I know ), and a very happy Saturday afternoon watching Sex and the City with my girls from makeup school, I was ready for a quiet, relaxing evening with friend S, who is like an older sister to me. Boy it feels great to have a gorgeous and headturner for a sister! As I met her at Greenbelt 3, she drove for us to Ortigas, as she promised me that I’d enjoy her hang out place, as well as the company of her good friends. I was game for a new experience, and off we went to find Amethyst Street, to Mozu Cafe. Mozu Cafe at the ground floor of Linden Suites Tower II, at the back of the building. It’s very near UA&P, so it was really a quiet Saturday night after all since this isn’t the usual hang out spots in Ortigas like El Pueblo or Metrowalk. It also striked me as a secret hang out spot because of the location. We entered a very cozy cafe , met Topher, one of the owners of the place and S’s friend, and ordered our dinner as we were starving. I got myself Pomodoro pasta, S got Carbonara, and I asked to get us Salpicao because I have been craving for it all afternoon, hoping they’d have it in the menu ( and there it was! ) ![]() The Pomodoro pasta has a home-cooked feel that felt like well, home. It had just the right taste that I always want for my pasta - a little bit sour, nothing too sweet, and there was a hint of seafood in the tomato sauce. To sum it up, it was comforting. ![]() The Salpicao ( beef ) was just okay, it was a great appetizer and it surely satisfied my craving for the night! I wish they had a rice meal so that I could just order it up as a rice meal. But no regrets. Pasta and salpicao filled up a hungry girl’s tummy for a Saturday night! S’s Carbonara was sweet and tasty as I successfully nicked from her plate ( people are so generous that they always make me get from their plates! Do I look like I eat alot? Gosh I think it shows! ). We had a hearty dinner, but to both our delights, the night was far from over. THERE WAS DESSERT! hahahahaha! ![]() S mercilessly shoved the crust of the Frozen Brazzo to me because she labeled me an alcoholic ( which is so not true, I just look the part, kidding ), and she tasted that there might be rum there. ( For the record, Topher confirmed - no alcohol was used to make the crust! ) Her Frozen Brazzo was very very delicious specially when my teeth sinked in the light, creamy mango part there. ![]() I was more adventurous and as my friends’ influence on chocolate desserts ( hello, Phoebe! ) , I bravely tried their Molten Lava Chocolate Cake. The chocolate cake was very very rich, and I was glad that there was vanilla ice cream on top of the cake as it sort of balanced the richness of the chocolate. I had to grab a few glasses of water to be able to go on, as this is most fitting for the serious chocolate lover - a sure bet for a smile in a chocolate lover’s face. Haha! I wasn’t able to try their coffee and iced drinks ( that’s S’ , by the way, which I kept on taking pictures of ), but I intend to do so next time! Their food’s very good and I think I’d come back when I need some peace and quiet, and some good company. I ended the night with a delicious strawberry margarita that eased me to sleep as I arrived home. Heehee. ![]() Mozu Cafe is Starbucks, more quiet, cozier, and with almost everything you’d want to eat. They have fruit shakes, ice blended coffee, even alcoholic beverages ( heehee ), light to heavy food, and delectable desserts. It’s a no brainer for a hidden hang out spot ( probably because it’s still new, about 3 months in operation ) when you just want to unwind and relax. Just because there are moments when you’d want something like that. Contact Details : Mozu Cafe
