Filed Under (Food Fest) by Summer Girl
![]() Just before our trip to the zoo, my friends and I made a short stop at the Takashimaya Mall to grab some lunch at their food court. Suddenly confused on what to get because of the variety of food there, I think I went around the food court about twice or thrice before deciding what I want for lunch - all I know is that - I want something spicy, and something truly Singaporean. On the left of the rice is something like sweet and sour fish only with added pepper. Now, on the right, let me take emphasis on how good it tasted! It’s called Daging Bumbu Bali- Balinese Spicy Beef. It’s a much, much spicier version of our local Beef Kaldereta which happens to be my favorite dish, look, I even asked the waitress to put more sauce on top of my rice! ![]() ![]() My meal was enough, but apparently, I was seeking to fill my tummy until it’d burst. Haha. So I ordered Beef Hor Fun with Sauce ( Stir-fried Beef Hofan With Sauce as called here ), and for 5 sgd, I must say, this is worth the price because of the hefty serving, the really delicious hofan ( soft as teeth sinks in but firm nonetheless ), and the overall taste! I kept on adding chili sauce because I wanted to eat spicy food everyday at Singapore ( hahahahaha! don’t worry, I didn’t get sick! ). Overall, I won’t mind eating at foodcourts in Singapore. The food is just great, and even if it is already a budget meal in their terms, it’s still expensive to me, specially their water! Water costs like 1.50 sgd to 2 sgd, around 60 pesos? oh god, water jugs must be really really in-demand there.I didn’t get to eat Authentic Singaporean food there, but the culture’s just a great fusion there - Chinese, Malay, Indian, etc. that you get to try a variety. Oh, I miss Singapore. I’ll be counting the days til I get to taste their deelish cuisine again! Post a comment
