![]() Sundays are just a delight. No work, just the perfect time to laze in bed all day. There are moments wherein you just don’t want to leave the house, or even cook. So takeouts are my family’s best bet for Sundays since it’s time to take a break from our everyday cooking spree ( my mom, my sister, and I ), and enjoy some good food without leaving home ( well, maybe just for half an hour to get food outside?haha! ) ..ahhh, Xiao Long Bao , Xiao Long Bao. How do I love thee! I’m referring to the food ( image posted above ) which is my favorite dimsum of all time. They’re mid-sized dimsums, maybe a cross-breed of a dimsum and a siopao! ( Taking the siopao’s form, but a bit bigger than the normal dimsum, but the wrapper being just like dimsum ) The first time I tasted it at Din Tai Fung Restaurant in Shanghai, I knew it was love! Looking for great ones in Manila, so far, I have found something yummy enough (though still not as close, but hey, this is yummy too! ), found at Suzhou Dimsum! This picture was taken during my family’s Sunday lunch at home, we just had the frozen Xiao Long Bao’s microwaved til cooked, hence, looking like that. Hahaha! ![]() One great treat from Suzhou is their Seafood Hotpot!. I love how generous the servings of this one , a mixture of fish fillet, squid, and squid. The tofu is just so silky and melts-in-your-mouth in an instant! ![]() For the adventurous food lover, Suzhou’s Spicy Tito ( intestine sauteed in really hot chili sauce ) is a must-try. Ultra delicious to be paired with rice. Make sure you have a glass of water beside you. This is my personal favorite! ![]() Since restos around Retiro are just next to each other or super near, my parents went to get some food from Shuin, a small Taiwanese resto here in Retiro ( with its original branch at Araneta Ave ), that serves deelish Taiwanese food. I love, love their Kiam Chai ( pickled mustasa ), it’s one of the vegetables that I really really love eating. A mix of saltiness and sour flavor intrigue my tastebuds. So, what are you getting this Sunday?
