![]() I’m too lazy to write today, blame it on the celebrations and the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics that my eyes are glued on TV all the time, but hey, 8-8-8 only happens once in a millenium, so might as well make my mark in cyberspace that I wrote something this day. Two special things happened today. First, it’s my mom’s birthday. My mom is one of the luckiest gals on earth that get to celebrate her birthday on August 8, 2008, and have such a lucky birthdate! My baby sister was so cute that she actually made balloons and posters for mom. As for me, I decided to be a good girl and stay at home , so as not to give her any headache for this day. Hahaha! Today, I am most grateful that the most important woman in my life was given to me by God to take care of me. I thank her for she did an excellent job in raising us all 5 girls, extended patience to the rebellious me and sought to understand my strange personality. I think she did great because I don’t think that any of us are psychos. Haha ! I hope that I would be given a chance to do the same in time, to be able to take care of her.

I fondly recall as I had my first dose with Wordpress about June of last, last year. I almost died. Yeap! Endless nights of no sleep, busy tweaking and analyzing how Wordpress worked for someone who only knew how to reply to YM messages, and forums! Looking back, I knew it was worth it - to study about Wordpress because it is the easiest platform to use for blogs. On earth! Haha! Now that there will be a Wordcamp Philippines 2008 hosted by the Mindanao bloggers, I am taking no risk, that I am signing up to be a part of this wonderful learning experience. It may cause temporary headache to my rusty brain, but it should be all worth it.

![]() Shabu shabu has been something that I experience with my family since I was small because I was raised in Chinatown and well, I still remember being such a spoiled brat, demanding to eat at Lotus Restaurant ( I think it’s gone now ) just to see the pork blood squares be cooked in boiling soup, plus watercress, too. When I left Chinatown and moved to Quezon City, places with Shabu Shabu seemed so far away and I moved on without it. Eating at Healthy Shabu Shabu last Tuesday was such a reunion to me that I enjoyed it so much! Healthy Shabu Shabu’s concept is fun for those who want to try to “cook” their meal, the easy way! You get to choose your platter - chicken, beef, lamb, or seafood ( or a mixture of two variants ). I chose mine to be beef ( of course, I’m a beef girl ) and seafood platter. You have your own broth in front of you that you will boil, as well as put the to-be-cooked food in there. Very adventurous. Read the rest of this entry » |
