…and we just can’t get enough! We just can’t get enough!

Victims for last weekend : My two sisters, Sh, and Jh. As usual, on a Saturday night, the line was still unusually long, but hey, Pepper Lunch lovers don’t take that as something to turn their backs on! We fall in line, obediently, for those seats! ( even if Sh came in early to get us a table heehee )

My health-conscious sister’s plate is filled with Chicken and Salmon Platter. Just so like her! I got to nick from her plate since I eat way more than her, and well, the salmon is still as fresh as it can be! YUM! Read the rest of this entry »

I just noticed that my feature on Singapore lasted for over a week. It’s about to commence, one more entry after this, I promise!

During our last day, my friends and I went all the way from Bugis to Suntec City just to hunt this must-buy pasalubong and take-me-home from Singapore ( and other Asian cities, for that matter ) : Royce Chocolates.

This is T’s baby sister D’s favorite part of our Singapore adventure- eating ice cream - “bareta” ( Tagalog term for “bar” ) ice cream, as she fondly calls it.

The street ice cream there is pretty great. Bars of Magnolia ice cream cut, either served with wafer ( just like in the picture ) or bread for one Singaporean dollar is not cheap, but is a gratifying treat after lunch or dinner.

My close friend T’s beau M was very very thoughtful as T, D ( T’s sister ) and I flew in on T’s birthday, as M arranged a birthday dinner for his honey T inviting all the warm and very nice friends we have over there. The venue? Fine Italian dining over at Pasta Brava.

Let me just say that I was beyond speechless with the food here. It is perhaps the best Italian food I’ve ever tasted, and I just could not say more about it, but perhaps the pictures can tell the story ( with some snippets of comment I have )
I was able to try most of the dishes, but I might be seeking help from my friends seated on the other side of the table to tell me how the other dishes fared.

Scalopinne Di Vitello Al Marsala : this veal dish tasted like it had wine. intoxicating indeed.

…I’m back, I’m back from the dead! After my grueling final exams from makeup school, I guess it was time for a short vacation, as I accompanied my very good friend Tin and her sister Nana to Singapore to have some fun!

As almost every hotel was booked for July, we settled for Southeast Asia Hotel located in Waterloo street, near the Bencoolen Link. It’s a small hotel located just beside the Chinese temple, and well, in my point of view, the accommodations were mediocre, but very much okay for the price already. Of course - we don’t plan on staying in our hotel rooms all day since we were going to walk around and shop, but in fairness, the beds ( three beds, would you believe ? ) were very much comfortable already! Our money are allotted much much more for..shopping and food, of course!

Turning a year old is not a joke. I’ve dreaded crossing over, growing older, or just progressing. I want to be a kid forever. But as if I had a choice! I’m glad that people who love me have been comforting me in the fact that it does not really suck to turn a year older, as they celebrated it with me!

After the MAC Bridal Makeup Class, J , S and I headed for Green Tomato to get some merienda before dinner. I was able to eat my favorite dish there , after a whole year, since I don’t frequent Shang alot. Green Tomato’s so affordable, and their dishes are so gooood!!! Oh my mozarella toast, I love you!!!

Ummm yeah, I own Buon Giorno. I’m such an enabler. Hahaha! Kidding

I wish I owned Buon Giorno. I think I’d be really really fat if I would eat there everyday.

Anyway, after the Palm Beach Escapade, I led my friends to Buon Giorno, only my favorite stop in Tagaytay. What more can you ask for? The really cozy, chilly ambience ( which is perfect right after a scorching day at the beach ), great view of the very misty Taal lake ( whilst looking for a Taal-ness monster ), a very attractive opium bed that I always reserve ( under Susie Ouis, mark my word! ), and really good Italian food!

thanks S for the photo!

I told myself that I won’t settle for anything less than Boracay, but alas, my newfound schedule has prevented me from going to my favorite place in this country. Give it time, when I can afford to fly there whenever I want, I would definitely go there as much as I can. Hard work needs to be on the spotlight right now.

A few weeks ago, my friends and I decided to spend a quiet weekend at the beach since summer was almost over, and around the Independence Day holiday is usually when the sun shines the brightest one last time before it gives way to dark clouds to reign the sky. Twas decided a few days prior to the holiday, so almost every resort was fully booked already, and upon a recommendation of a friend, we were able to book at Palm Beach, which is near Virgin Beach, a resort that I’ve been to last May.

I’m more than fulfilled from my trip last weekend as I got to realize alot of things.

The sound of the waves make me take a deep breathe and thank God I’m alive. It is such cheerful music that greets me everytime I visit the sea. It also seeps away every trace of

The sight of sea and sand greets me home, rewards my sight, and tells me that all my hard work has paid off.

It is just the perfect ambience that makes me reaffirm, and stop denying that I love life. Yes, I realized that I love my life, I have tons of things to be thankful for, and I must go forward, reach for my dreams, and never take an obstacle as a reason to stop.

I’m glad to have had a silent retreat to my sanctuary before I shed off a year from my life soon. It reminded me that the spirit does not age, as I can keep on dreaming and living child-like and very much in awe of the world.

I gotta say, I love the view. It’s perfect. I’m seeing beautiful things.

S’ Iced Toffee Macadamia drink

It was Saturday, and after a hyper me enjoying my tense-filled makeup class ( I pressure myself too much, I know ), and a very happy Saturday afternoon watching Sex and the City with my girls from makeup school, I was ready for a quiet, relaxing evening with friend S, who is like an older sister to me. Boy it feels great to have a gorgeous and headturner for a sister! As I met her at Greenbelt 3, she drove for us to Ortigas, as she promised me that I’d enjoy her hang out place, as well as the company of her good friends. I was game for a new experience, and off we went to find Amethyst Street, to Mozu Cafe.

Mozu Cafe at the ground floor of Linden Suites Tower II, at the back of the building. It’s very near UA&P, so it was really a quiet Saturday night after all since this isn’t the usual hang out spots in Ortigas like El Pueblo or Metrowalk. It also striked me as a secret hang out spot because of the location. We entered a very cozy cafe , met Topher, one of the owners of the place and S’s friend, and ordered our dinner as we were starving. I got myself Pomodoro pasta, S got Carbonara, and I asked to get us Salpicao because I have been craving for it all afternoon, hoping they’d have it in the menu ( and there it was! ) Read the rest of this entry »
