Turning a year old is not a joke. I’ve dreaded crossing over, growing older, or just progressing. I want to be a kid forever. But as if I had a choice! I’m glad that people who love me have been comforting me in the fact that it does not really suck to turn a year older, as they celebrated it with me! ![]() After the MAC Bridal Makeup Class, J , S and I headed for Green Tomato to get some merienda before dinner. I was able to eat my favorite dish there , after a whole year, since I don’t frequent Shang alot. Green Tomato‘s so affordable, and their dishes are so gooood!!! Oh my mozarella toast, I love you!!! ![]() To be honest, I’m really not fond of anything sweet. I like my hot and sour soup really hot, and really sour, and I like my adobo mixed with tuyo for some kick. But Cake Club is a wonderful exception as I have tasted the best cheesecake here, discovered a new love for chocolate in Le Royale, and ate something that made me shut up – their delectable cream puffs.

![]() Ummm yeah, I own Buon Giorno. I’m such an enabler. Hahaha! Kidding I wish I owned Buon Giorno. I think I’d be really really fat if I would eat there everyday. Anyway, after the Palm Beach Escapade, I led my friends to Buon Giorno, only my favorite stop in Tagaytay. What more can you ask for? The really cozy, chilly ambience ( which is perfect right after a scorching day at the beach ), great view of the very misty Taal lake ( whilst looking for a Taal-ness monster ), a very attractive opium bed that I always reserve ( under Susie Ouis, mark my word! ), and really good Italian food!

![]() It was Saturday, and after a hyper me enjoying my tense-filled makeup class ( I pressure myself too much, I know ), and a very happy Saturday afternoon watching Sex and the City with my girls from makeup school, I was ready for a quiet, relaxing evening with friend S, who is like an older sister to me. Boy it feels great to have a gorgeous and headturner for a sister! As I met her at Greenbelt 3, she drove for us to Ortigas, as she promised me that I’d enjoy her hang out place, as well as the company of her good friends. I was game for a new experience, and off we went to find Amethyst Street, to Mozu Cafe. Mozu Cafe at the ground floor of Linden Suites Tower II, at the back of the building. It’s very near UA&P, so it was really a quiet Saturday night after all since this isn’t the usual hang out spots in Ortigas like El Pueblo or Metrowalk. It also striked me as a secret hang out spot because of the location. We entered a very cozy cafe , met Topher, one of the owners of the place and S’s friend, and ordered our dinner as we were starving. I got myself Pomodoro pasta, S got Carbonara, and I asked to get us Salpicao because I have been craving for it all afternoon, hoping they’d have it in the menu ( and there it was! ) Read the rest of this entry »

![]() I’m admittedly a pig-eater because when I was a kid, I’ve been training like hell in the swimming pool for 4-5 hours a day, that triggered a hefty appetite after. Yes, twice or thrice the usual amount of food kids eat. And I’m afraid I’ve taken it with me as I grew up. I binge eat whenever I’m stressed. And makeup school is no exception. Don’t get me wrong, I have loads of fun, and my energies are at its all time high whenever I go to class – it’s my passion and I’m happiest whenever it’s Saturday, but it’s also draining since I don’t get me a good breakfast as I rush to school very early in the morning. So I pigout during lunchtime. Great suggestion of my classmate L, to eat at Ebun, which was right beside Kitchen in Greenbelt 3. Just because we’ve maxed out our CC’s and our cash outflow are just in its all time high because of our expenses for school, we were opting for something more affordable but still equally yummy.

…well, I’m not going to talk about the new Anson’s actually. I’m going to talk about its NEW and super high-tech carpark! We were on the way to Glorietta when my dad suddenly asked, “Where are we parking?”, I mumbled, “the usual.”, and he said, “well, you’re the usual is already nonexistent. There’s no Parksquare 2 anymore.” Okay, I cannot be blamed for not knowing because (1) I don’t drive, and (2) if ever I frequent Makati, I commute because it’s so expensive to use a car to go to Makati ( gosh, the prices for gasoline are way ridiculous already and I could go to Glorietta for a mere 25 bucks by LRT and MRT ! ). Anyway, going back, we decided to park at Anson’s building, the latest project of Ayala Malls. My dad parked there yesterday while he was waiting for me to finish shopping for makeup school supplies. We were in such shock when after the guard checking the car, my dad had to stop on the card slot, virtually “stamp” his thumb for a fingerprint record, as the card slot took a picture of our car, as it released the parking card! All I could say – high tech, hi tech, and reason enough to charge fifty bucks flat rate? I really hope they’d lower it a bit though! Fifty’s a bit too step for mall parking – I’d take it if they would build a bridge connecting Anson’s and Landmark at least, so that we wouldn’t have to cross the street to go to Landmark. Pfft.

![]() Twas one Saturday night while I was eating a deelish pizza from Sandy’s when Phoebe smsed me giddily ( well, at least that was the vibe! ), calling me beef girl ( well, I really am! ) , swearing that I’d love Pepper Steak’s Shimofuri Steak because it just melted in her mouth. Considering tender, and melt-in-your-mouth beef are so rare, she quickly invited me for dinner Wednesday night to anticipate my “disoriented moment,” as my teeth would sink in that steak. Good thing we pushed thru, along with my friends Didi and Fran, it was indeed a Pepper Lunch night for all of us! Also present were Jayvee, Juned, and AJ, fresh from an event ( with Fritz joining us later ). As expected, there was a queue outside the resto, but it was a fast-moving one, so we didn’t have any problem with looking for seats. Well, enough stalling, I’m going to start rambling about my food. One, two, three, go!

![]() Saturday night was just so rainy that my date L and I had to brave the floods ( the car, at least ), get all soaked in rainwater ( which, I might say, strangely pains my muscles ), to be able to find a place to grab dinner and chitchat. I left L to decide where he wanted to have dinner, and when we were in the Greenhills area, he asked me, “Would you like to try Angel’s Kitchen?” I immediately said sure since I think I’ve heard of it before, but I’ve just never had the chance to try it there.

Yesterday, in the midst of the impossible noon heat , I was out on business, and as I was heading back home, I fetched my sisters who were taking up swimming lessons at Ace Water Spa. Silly me, it’s a few streets away from home and I’ve never tried going in that place! When I arrived, my sisters were still billing out in the restaurant area, so I looked around and observed the cramped tables full of families, with the kids with hair still damp from being water babies, eating to their hearts’ content. Yhave to agree – what’s a better thing to do after swimming than munching some food? Heehee. While the nice sister in me patiently waited, a few mini-cakes caught my attention, and I took two of them home since I’ve had this really bad craving of either sweets or really salty foods for the past few days, that I just couldn’t resist just plain looking at them. I.must.take.them.home. ![]() Read the rest of this entry »

I woke up late yesterday ( Saturday ) because I had no office that day. I was supposed to postpone my trip to Tagaytay with friends already when I woke up to a text message plea from J to come along because we don’t go out of town much. Since the circumstances seemed cheerful and more optimistic in the household, I was able to take a quick shower, dress up in time, and head for our meeting place. Sometime along 1 oclock in the afternoon, us girls + 1 boy were complete to have our awaited late lunch at Tagaytay. Guess where? Of course, our less adventurous streak for the weekend led us to Buon Giorno, our favorite Italian resto in Tagaytay, and as C has never tried it before there, we sought to bring him there to make him understand why we love the place so much! ![]() The reason why this blog might be called The Buon Giorno Blog ( TBGB ) in the near future. haha! |
