Things might not have been happening the way I want them to be, but in the midst of all of these, it only takes one thing to make my day -

That is to be able to have a sneak peak of the new and improved Watson’s, the latest beauty and wellness wonderland in SM Mall of Asia. Watch out for my feature in Beautynomics. When I saw the place, I seriously wanted to have it all to myself!

Yeah, it only takes that to make me feel alive again!

Apologies to my readers ( my good ‘ol friends ), and to my blog for being neglected over the past week for I have been busy with alot of things. I’ve been introduced to alot of things lately that I’ve been enjoying myself despite the bad weather that brings sickness to alot ( Grrr I hate the weather )

Well, here’s what kept me busy!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
My face was definitely buried in this book from Saturday evening to Monday evening. When Sarabeth arrived home with the much coveted book, I was able to start reading it after the TV series marathon that my sisters want to watch together, in full attendance (we are,a close knit family! Haha! ). Come Sunday, I was still reading it inside a Chinese accupuncture center while I watched over my mom’s procedure. Monday after work, and I’m still finishing it until I did. Gosh. I love this book! This has got to be the best book, and it was definitely action packed that just took me away ! Every penny was well spent for this book. I wonder how they’d turn this into a movie, it would really be quite challenging. A separate review will be made for this, I promise! I really do think that Harry Potter defines this generation. I can imagine myself being a grandma one day and telling my grandchildren about Harry Potter, with them getting bewildered, and excited to watch a “classic.” Haha! Read the rest of this entry »

Sometimes I think that I want to be an expert in everything, and do things on my own. Learn CSS and PHP ( which I eventually gave up with ), photography ( which I eventually made my younger sister Straw learn instead, ) and graphics ( which I eventually let Sarabeth do. ). As much as I want to do everything, I have learned that I should specialize in some thing, instead of attempting to want to do everything. Much, much practical.

Anyway, stumbling upon a Multiply site of Niko, I got to admire his talent for vector drawing. I would never have thought that Niko would have the passion, and patience to work in Adobe Illustrator, or Corel Draw for that matter, and be that creative, since he graduated with a degree of Industrial Engineering, and all I could relate to that course are the jargons, “ergonomics”, “operations research”, and “thermodynamics”, and of course, “mathmathmath.”

Here are some of his work :

Smart, eh?

  • I’m all scatterbrain this weekend, but I have thoughts flying in my head. Let me just get some off my mind by blogging in bulletpoint :
  • On Transformers the Movie. Everyone’s been raving about it all week and I’m so so wanting to watch this movie! I was a fan of Transformers the series during my childhood days, and whenever I hear “Transformers,” there is a melody that instantly plays in my mind (” tanananan “…basta, the sound they play after the word Transformers is said! ). I was very young then, and I just kept confusing Transformers with Voltes Five because with Voltes Five, it’s like “Let’s…( some second worth of silence ) volt.. ( a slight pause again )…in! ” Haha! My mom and dad are supposed to bring me along tomorrow for accupuncture or some checkup by a Chinese doc because of the stress that I have been complaining about , but I almost blurted, “Hey Dad, can we make it next week? I’m watching Transformers.” I didn’t have the heart to say that during lunchtime since they might choke! Hahaha!

    kikay kits

I’ve been blogging about beauty for over a year now, and it was more on blogging on my own, as I wasn’t able to mingle with co-bloggers in the Philippines. For a year, I’ve lived through sharing emails with co-beauty bloggers in the Beauty Blog Network, and really, I’ve learned alot, and appreciated their helpfulness. It was like a family watching each others’ back.

Just last month when I met up with bloggers from the Bayanihan Blog Network, I realized, hey, there is such a great community here, and it’s really fun mingling and talking about blogging with people offline! Now, I’ve decided to try to get a dose of network blogging. Maybe for a change. Thus, my new beauty blog, that is catered for the Filipino kikays and kikoys ( hahaha! such a cute term! ), Kikay Kits!

I also hope to be able to convert some of my readers to be kikay like me! It’s so much fun being kikay!

Now, I’m sure this is going to be fun! Yayness!

At last, Summer Solstice 2007 is finally here. It marks the first day of summer in the Northern Hemishphere, it’s Midsummer in Europe, and here, it’s awfully damp and cold. Well, I can only imagine the multitude of festivities up there, maybe some day, I can go to Stonehenge as my personal journey to see it happen right in front of my eyes.

Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, when the power of the sun is strongest. Long long time ago, our ancestors used to worship the sun because it makes plants grow and it gives them warmth, so the moment of the sun’s greatest power marks a celebration for them. Then, several ( well not several, but alot of ) celebrations have sprouted, and Summer Solstice is an event widely celebrated by people around the world.

mirmo de pon Well, I can’t think of anything artistic to start off this blog entry when I am so , absolutely tensed, and feel my blood pressure rise, whenever I watch Pinoy Big Brother! God, someone, help me! ( Yes, Reema ( the cute picture on the left, is trying to help me relax! )

With the Wendy fiasco going on ( just a summary : Wendy’s been accusing the nice housemates Gee-Ann and Bea of being “unreal” because they’re not confrontational and they won’t fight back to Wendy ), everyone in the household is absolutely fuming at Wendy’s behavior. I can’t say much for I might burst into flames again, but all I can say is that, being real does not mean that you have to be mean, or resort in bashing, or being hurtful to other people. People who are level-headed and more understanding shouldn’t be mistaken as being “unreal”. Just read here for I share the same sentiments as them. Gosh, I don’t know what to say anymore but, she must go, she must go! She’s not being real at that point, she’s being absolutely childish, and she reminds me of mean girls! With a fresh new blog, what a great way to start things off by enumerating 7 Facts About Me? Sasha , my fashion blogger friend for Tops2Bottoms has tagged me to share 7 random facts about me. I kept on analysing Sasha’s post if I was permitted to confine it to a “stylish level”, which is within the bounds of my scope of blogging, which is beauty blogging, or just naming 7 random facts about me, in general. In this case, I’m mixing them both since my personal life is pretty much intertwined with my beauty blogging life. I’ve been vain all my life.

    Anyway, here’s my piece. =)

    1. I love wearing black. I’ve alot of black blouses and sleeveless tops. I believe that black is such a beautiful , classy color that fits me, and complements my skintone and figure. Even if I’m Chinese, and black clothing is highly discouraged to be worn, I’m off my rebellious streak because I feel beautiful when I’m wearing black. Read the rest of this entry »
