![]() Labels, or love? Sex and The City has got to be the movie of the year. I’ve never seen this much groups of friends watching movies together. We were a group of seven girls ( straight from makeup class ), and my friend tells me his boss’ was a group of 14 who watched it! I think , more than a movie for lovers, Sex and the City is ultimately the girl-friend flick of the year. Fabulous, breath-stopping clothes, laugh-out loud jokes, and tore-my-heart heartbreaks, Sex and the City drives me to a quiet reflection on how happy I am to have really good friends to be with me thick and thin. Life isn’t perfect in any way, one might want to give up at one point in one’s life, but the existence of wonderful support systems are just the driving forces to look on the brighter side and fight. Fight for one’s space in the world, fight for one’s happiness in this only life we’re given to live. Friends are blessings that God gave us to help us see the beauty of breathing and looking at the world with Prada shades, through good times, and bad times.

![]() Well, it is February, so in celebration of the month of love (oh my here I go again), my best friends went to watch 27 Dresses starring Katherine Heigl. I might not really relate to Jane ( Heigl )in the sense that she is purely, purely selfless in giving herself to others for their respective happy endings, and setting her needs aside, but then I could relate to her in the sense that I truly believe in fairy tales, and happy endings. I am a sucker for romance, and I always will be. God you must see my seatmate’s face when I was swooning when Kevin ( Mardsden ) said, “Come over here.” as well, I don’t want to give spoilers. * Shuts her mouth* What made this movie appealing is the idea that every girl deserves a happy ending, allthemore, with a girl that has been nothing but selfless, in giving other people happiness. It’s a “good people deserve happiness” themed movie, a little bit predictable, but nonetheless perfect for Valentine’s Day. I cried in the last part, during the wedding, because it’s always been a girl’s dream come true to walk in the aisle, as the magical moment happens, the groom’s face just lights up of pure love, respect, and devotion. *Gushes, well, someday, somehow, everyone will have his/her own dose of magic, just like this.* Well, to wrap this up, some interesting parts or tidbits about the movie that I loved (now, the spoilers! ) : Read the rest of this entry »

![]() I’m just a normal girl that spends my weekends if not at home, but with my best buds exercising our taste buds with food tripping, and watching movies together. On a Saturday night. But thinking that this would be my last free weekend with my monstrous schedule ahead, I decided to maximize it and well, do something different. Come Friday night, my friends and I attended the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic Phone Party as media (well, bloggers are media! ) . The newly unveiled 5310 was ultra thin, and very very oohlala-ish. I want one! In attendance were bloggers Sasha ( whose new hair color, I lurv ) and Rico, Abe, and Jayvee, as I was with my hot girl friends Roanne and Angel, with my “bodyguard” Mike. Oh, I missed this kind of clubbing music - no one was dancing, but it was great music since I saw someone playing the violin, reminds me of my favorite band, Bond. I actually enjoyed the party even if I drank a wee bit too much. End result? I get nauseated when I see bottles of wines and beers. No more drinking for now!

![]() Today’s a Sunday, and it’s family and and bonding time for my sisters and me. I was thinking if we’d spend the day shopping but I was rather bored of the idea ( huwaaat? Seriously ), or maybe just afraid that I’d draw a bigger hole in my pocket, so I invited them all to watch a movie. I remember my bestbud M telling me that she was anticipating Evan Almighty, and I said, “No, not again, another Jim Carey flick?” , “No, this time it’s Steve Carell! The one who starred in the 40 Year Old Virgin? “. At that time, I only heard of Steve Carell, remembering his name in the opening credits of Saturday Night Live , my favorite show, but a few weeks after, I got to watch the 40 Year Old Virgin and it was really funny, and I actually liked Carell’s acting. To start, I didn’t watch Bruce Almighty, because for the primary reason that I didn’t like Jim Carey’s acting - it just didn’t appeal to me. At all. Watching the trailer of Evan Almighty made me want to watch it because it seemed freakin` funny. I also made my baby sister Shine who’s 8 watch the trailer in Youtube for her approval ( because she might just throw a tantrum in the middle of the movie when she gets bored ), and I was so surprised that she actually agreed to watch it. Maybe she liked the cute animals flocking around Carell! Hahaha! Anyway, I’m gonna stop stalling and get on with my review. Read the rest of this entry »

The movie was quite short , as it ended with me thinking, “it’s already finished?”, with a quizzical look in my face. The plot wasn’t fully developed, and there was so much more that they could add to give some story to the movie.

![]() Last Sunday was such a fun day as I watched Harry Potter 5 : Order of the Phoenix with all my sisters ( yes, all 5 of us! ). We enjoyed the day, as our parents dropped us off at the mall to watch the movie that we have been waiting for all week! My sister Strawberry mused about his professor comparing which was better - to read the book before watching Harry Potter in the moviehouse, or watching the movie before reading the book. On my end, I have just started reading Harry Potter last February, out of boredom from my post-graduate phase. I just picked it up from my sister Sarabeth’s book shelf, and started reading. With that, the addiction began and it took me just , I think, two weeks to finish everything. With that, it is clear that I have watched all four movies of Harry Potter before I read the book. In my opinion, for the past four movies, I have appreciated, and fully understood it onscreen, and it was a good thing that I have watched the movie, for when I started reading the books, the images that were retained in my mind ( the movie sequences perhaps ) helped me better grasp and imagine Harry Potter and his adventures. As for the discrepancies, at least, the inconsistencies or whatever was missing in the movie, were well-filled with my book reading.

It’s Saturday night, and I chose to skip my weekly Saturday night outs for the reason that I’ve accumulated so much stress over the past few weeks. With a luxurious massage last night, I feel somehow revived, ready to work again, but only after I take a full rest this weekend. ( With the exception of a Sunday lunch *winkwink* ) After work, I gleefully went home, went to my room and watched HBO - and it turned out to be this old ( well, not really old ) movie, Chances Are starring Robert Downy Jr. (who, I must say, looked so much like John Lloyd Cruz in this film, since he was still young then ) and Sybill Shephered (who, I thought was incredibly gorgeous and young then ) . The movie was about love lost, reincarnation, and finding love again. Read the rest of this entry »

They say that humor is relative - when someone cracks a joke, not everyone laughs. Will Ferrell is my favorite comedian, becaue he cracks me up and leaves me laughing on the top of my lungs with his acting. He yells, and he yells like there’s no tomorrow! His facial expressions are truly priceless. I’ve watched his old Saturday Night Live episodes, found him freakishly funny in Midnight in Roxbury, loved Superstar with him, well , being Jesus and Superstar’s man of her dreams, rolled on the floor laughing with Anchorman and the weird , weird script ( spoofing the warring scene of Gangs of New York, what were they thinking ? ), kept on imitating his gleeful, enthusiastic jump saying “a hundred!” in Bewitched, and of course, I am highly anticipating, waiting, and so excited to watch his latest film, Blades of Glory! The ridiculous outfits, the impossible routines are driving me wild! Read the rest of this entry » |
