I fondly recall as I had my first dose with WordPress about June of last, last year. I almost died. Yeap! Endless nights of no sleep, busy tweaking and analyzing how WordPress worked for someone who only knew how to reply to YM messages, and forums! Looking back, I knew it was worth it – to study about WordPress because it is the easiest platform to use for blogs. On earth! Haha!

Now that there will be a Wordcamp Philippines 2008 hosted by the Mindanao bloggers, I am taking no risk, that I am signing up to be a part of this wonderful learning experience. It may cause temporary headache to my rusty brain, but it should be all worth it.

For the past few months, I’ve been out of control blogging the nights away and trying to develop some new sites ( which I have yet to do ). I just have so much ideas in my head that I want to do everything, but having only one pair of hands and one brain, I can only do as much as I can right now.

Just today, I am officially a B5Media blogger for Beauty Gizmo, a blog about beauty tools and gadgets. I know – too much beauty blogging for me already? I don’t think so. I’ve never enjoyed blogging this much – even when I am down and depressed, sometimes, I just couldn’t write it down, but I could always utter a word about makeup or skin care whenever someone would need the advice, or I would always feel like writing something beauty-related. Blogging gives me a natural high – it unleashes the inner writer in me, as well as boosts my self esteem, that I feel good about helping people, and also, being recognized and appreciated by readers. Feels good. Read the rest of this entry »

The term grappling just popped out of my head from the frustration that I’m having over my new 13″ Macbook. Good thing when I checked Dictionary.com, the word made sense,

to try to overcome or deal (usually fol. by with): to grapple with a problem ( ref : dictionary.com )

Even if my 4-day old Macbook is all its cutie goodness, with a very adorable pink case that I got from Amazon, I am still highly challenged, and frustrated because it is my first time, ever, to use a MAC! Somehow analogous to my 8-year old baby sister Sunshine who is the cutest baby, but can be a pain to deal with sometimes.

Sarabeth aka Sugar has been swooning over it all week. She wants one for herself ! She is tech geekier than I am, and I am just too proud to admit it! Hahaha!

The F9 key is heaven-sent, but I really really think that I should get a mouse. I am so lost. My friend Kaths says that the first time she used Diana‘s Macbook, she wanted to throw it in the trashbin right then and there, but she eventually learned to love it. The learning curve is somewhat..flat, eh?

They assure me that sooner or later I would not live without a MAC. I don’t know. I can’t even install Photoshop CS from my CD.

Good thing I’m going to the office tomorrow to use my ever reliable PC to blog! For now, I couldn’t see myself letting go! ( Except for the Photo Booth, and F9! Haha! )

Yesterday, I was able to attend the Graphic Expo ’07 at the Philippine Trade Training Center, as I brought along my dad, a tech enthusiast ( who inspired me to be one as well ), and my sister Strawberry, who is majoring in Multimedia Arts, so that I could show her what the latest gadgets and technology there in Pre-press and Imaging.

I might be beauty blogging my nights away in pursuit of my holy grail cosmetics, but in broad daylight, I am totally a different person- I belong to the print industry, and I talk not in terms of beauty jargons, but instead, print jargons like color separation, kinds of papers, pre-press, spot colors, and all those stuff. I really enjoy my day job because it is very exciting, and I get to see the print industry evolving rapidly, as the machines go all the way advanced, as prices fluctuate from getting extremely lower, and with new gadgets priced way up there. Printing is my daylight passion. Read the rest of this entry »
