![]() I just noticed that my feature on Singapore lasted for over a week. It’s about to commence, one more entry after this, I promise! During our last day, my friends and I went all the way from Bugis to Suntec City just to hunt this must-buy pasalubong and take-me-home from Singapore ( and other Asian cities, for that matter ) : Royce Chocolates.

![]() This is T’s baby sister D’s favorite part of our Singapore adventure- eating ice cream - “bareta” ( Tagalog term for “bar” ) ice cream, as she fondly calls it. The street ice cream there is pretty great. Bars of Magnolia ice cream cut, either served with wafer ( just like in the picture ) or bread for one Singaporean dollar is not cheap, but is a gratifying treat after lunch or dinner.

![]() I told myself that I won’t settle for anything less than Boracay, but alas, my newfound schedule has prevented me from going to my favorite place in this country. Give it time, when I can afford to fly there whenever I want, I would definitely go there as much as I can. Hard work needs to be on the spotlight right now. A few weeks ago, my friends and I decided to spend a quiet weekend at the beach since summer was almost over, and around the Independence Day holiday is usually when the sun shines the brightest one last time before it gives way to dark clouds to reign the sky. Twas decided a few days prior to the holiday, so almost every resort was fully booked already, and upon a recommendation of a friend, we were able to book at Palm Beach, which is near Virgin Beach, a resort that I’ve been to last May.

![]() I must admit. I’m not totally fond of Batangas beaches. I’ve been spoiled too much of luxurious, fine sand, that I would rather book a plane ticket to enjoy excellent beaches in Bohol, or Boracay. I’m even saving profusely for Palawan. Yes, I get broke with my fondness for fine sand beaches! With the limited schedule of my dear friends, an overnight stay to be exact, we couldn’t go that far, so we just settled to go to Batangas. Oh well, at least there was sun and ample time for sunbathing! Hahaha! ( What I crave most about summer is the tan that I get to sport! )

On the third leg of our journey, twas bestbud A’s idea to visit a friend’s place and spend the night there as it was just 45 minutes away from the beach. So our third destination, Lipa City, Batangas. On the way there, I was bored, and on a fast moving vehicle, the impulsive me just opened the window of M’s car and started shooting random sunset pics - just because I’ve never taken a sunset shot, ever. Next time, I’d make sure I camp out during sunrise, and sunset at the beach to chase good light and capture beautiful shots, as every budding photography enthusiast would go for. ( See Swept Away ) ![]() We spent the night at Events Centre, which is owned and managed by bestbud A’s friend ( and our new friend, too ) H. The facade, as we arrived there, striked to me as a typical hotel, but when I went inside, it turned out to be a great place to hold well, events ! Aside from being an events facility, it also has rooms that can accommodate overnighters and such ( like us! ). There was a wedding reception held in the main hall when we arrived there, and we were escorted to the room by their courteous staff.

![]() A key signifies the our power of making decisions. Keys are used to open doors, trying to unlock something and revealing surprises and new stuff, and even locking some doors. One can always choose the doors he/she could open, because one is to be held responsible for whatever happens - be it good and bad. The key, the decision-making power of everyone, is a powerful tool that must be well thought of before doing it. This year, I’ve used my “key” more than I have ever did in my entire life. This year was a big year of change for me as I used my key to open doors, experience new adventures, meet new people, expand my horizons, and tap into foreign territory. I’ve also admittedly used my key without thinking a few times that led my emotions to fluctuate and lead to regret. But hey, regrets are nightmares of the heart that are better let go of than clutched in the chest. So , better yet, experience, may it be good or bad, must be well-remembered. Good experience should be used to treasure and be a driving force to look forward and enjoy life, and bad experience should be lessons learned, as life is a teacher that teaches not from lectures beforehand, but after events occur. The year 2007 was definitely a year of change, or maybe coming of age for me as I was able to experience alot of new stuff that I’ve never dreamed of.

First things first, I was shrieking in joy as my dad couldn’t understand what I was saying as I heard from the radio that there was a PISO Seat Sale at Cebu Pacific. Woooohoo, and the first day of the promo was today, I thought I actually was going to be one of the first to book good flights! To my dismay, the travel period was from Nov. 1 to Dec. 20. Everyone’s just so busy by that time, including me. My next Boracay trip would have to wait til February, and I don’t think there are tickets on sale for that date! Too much foreigners flocking because of the Chinese New Year Celebration. Read the rest of this entry »

![]() ![]() The place was very Zen-like , for all I could see was black and white interior design except for the color of the chairs, and we only made do with an electric fan instead of an air-conditioned room, as we also enjoyed the chilly air that Tagaytay is famous for. ![]() Would you believe that it will only cost you PHP 8,417.00, roundtrip to Shanghai? Thanks to Cebu Pacific, I will be able to go back to that wonderful place again, minus the heartbreaking price tag! Just a few months ago, February to be exact, I was able to go to Shanghai to visit Kaths and Diana who travelled on a 12-hour train ride from Beijing to Shanghai to meet up. They studied in Beijing for six months, and they travelled to Shanghai just for us, and of course, enjoy all of China! ( such a lovely place, such a lovely place. |
